Petitions launched for the withdrawal of citizenship from Romanians in the Republic of Moldova. "Abusive Romanian passports"

Over 20,000 individuals have signed two petitions on petitieonline.com, primarily citing the vote cast by Romanians in the Republic of Moldova during the second round of presidential elections. Nicușor Dan received 88% of the votes expressed in this country.
"Citizens of Moldova have no rights in Romania; the abusive Romanian passports of Moldovans should be revoked on the grounds that we, Romanian citizens, do not vote for the President of Moldova. Moldova requested independence from Romania, so remain independent," the petitions argue.
Several internet users commenting on this initiative expressed their discontent regarding the votes of Moldovans who also hold Romanian citizenship. They mobilized in an unprecedented manner for the second round, with 158,000 people voting over three days at 64 polling stations in Moldova.
"They want to fraudulently influence the votes in Romania"
"I do not agree with them voting in the presidential elections against the will of the Romanian people, against freedom, and against the integrity of the country in the fight against corruption," commented Ovidiu Miclea from Sighișoara.
"I am signing because it is illegal to use passports or ID cards for voting; you should not interfere in our country!" wrote another petitioner, Răzvan Varga.
"They wish to fraudulently influence the votes in Romania during the parliamentary elections and create division," stated another signatory, Adina Mihalache.
"I want Moldovan citizens to lose their citizenship rights as long as they do not pay taxes and duties and do not contribute to the economic development of Romania. Consequently, they have no right to vote in Romania," expressed Cătălina-Gina Balescu. "They only take advantage of us and continue to speak Russian. They live well in the West with our passports and profit from properties they buy next to us, who knows with what money... Due to all of this, counties like Iași and Vaslui unfairly rank last in voter turnout, as these individuals reside often with 15,000 at the same fictitious address," wrote Eduard Antoniu from Iași in a public comment on the petition.
